Interactive Intelligence Benefits
for All US Team Members
Interactive Intelligence continues our commitment to provide team members with the most comprehensive and cost effective benefits available. Team members who consistently work a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week (unless eligibility for a certain benefit is otherwise stated) are eligible to enroll in our benefits programs. Benefits should be viewed, along with salary, as a part of an overall compensation package. Our benefits package is reviewed periodically to ensure that it meets team members’ needs. More detailed plan summaries are available upon request.
Three health packages are offered to team members, Plans A, B and HDHP/HSA. Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield is our current underwriter. Team members may elect to change plans during open enrollment in November-December every year. The health package includes coverage for medical, dental, prescription, vision and mental health services. Coverage for team members and any eligible dependents is effective the very first day of employment.
Team members are eligible to participate in the Interactive Intelligence 401(k) savings plan immediately. Under this plan, you may elect to have a percentage of your earnings contributed on a pre-tax basis. Your contributions and investment earnings will accumulate, tax-deferred, and will be available for your use at retirement. Rollovers from previous plans can be accepted at any time, and this plan has a loan provision.
Most of us agree that we need to save for the future. However, not knowing how to start can cause many people to just say they will “do it later.” Interactive Intelligence has adopted “automatic enrollment” to help employees start saving small and start saving now. All eligible team members will be enrolled for a 4% contribution. Team members will have a 60-day window in which to Opt Out, or decline participation in the plan.
Interactive Intelligence is pleased to announce potential company matching for contributions to 401(k) accounts for 2008. If the company achieves a GAAP reported operating income of at least 5% for 2008, the company will match up to 25% of employee contributions, up to 4% of employee earnings for a total company match up to 1% earnings if the company contributes 4%. If GAAP reported earnings are greater than 9%, the company will match up to 25% of employee contributions, up to 8% of employee earnings for a total company match of up to 2% earnings, if the employee contributes 8%.
The Roth 401(k) is an option as an investment vehicle to our 401(k) plan. This option will allow participants to direct some participants to direct some investment savings as an after tax contribution. These monies will be invested separately, and earnings on these contributions may be withdrawn tax-free once a participant holds this investment at least 5 years AND is at least 59.5 years old.
Team members are eligible for paid vacation days according to the following schedule:
0 - 3 years of service: 10 days vacation, 6.67 hours per month (first year will be pro-rated according to months employed)
3 - 7 years of service: 15 days vacation, 10.0 hours per month (higher accrual rate begins on 3rd anniversary)
7+ years of service: 20 days vacation, 13.3 hours per month (higher accrual rate begins on 7th anniversary)
The VPP allows team members to purchase 40 hours of vacation, offered annually during open enrollment.

Team members accrue 10 days of short-term sick time each year. If the illness extends for a period of more than five consecutive days it is considered long-term sickness. The amount of long-term sickness available is based on service, up to a maximum of 12 weeks.
Company-paid Group Coverage for team members is effective the first day of employment. UNUM is our current underwriter for $50,000 Life and $50,000 Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance. For those who wish to purchase additional insurance, voluntary, portable term life insurance at group rates is available through UNUM. Team members may purchase insurance for themselves, spouses and children.
Team members who are eligible and elect coverage will be eligible for benefits resulting from an off-the-job injury or illness following a 30-day waiting period from date of hire. This program provides coverage at 60% of salary for a disability that extends beyond 90 days.
Other supplemental insurance options are available through AFLAC, such as: short-term disability, accident/disability, hospital indemnity, cancer, and intensive care.
AFLAC administers our FSA program, which helps team members save money on unreimbursed health and/or dependent care expenses.
Chase administers our Health Savings Account (optional for team members who elect Health Plan HDHP/HSA). The HSA allows employees to contribute money to an account (the HSA), which an eligible individual uses to pay for qualified medical expenses until the health plan deductible is reached.
Team members who regularly work at least 20 hours per week and have at least 30 days of service are eligible to participate in the ESPP. You may enroll in the plan prior to the start of a fiscal quarter. Through this plan, you may purchase ININ stock through payroll deduction and at a discount.
Interactive Intelligence will provide team members with an interest-free loan for hardware purchases made for home use after 90 days of employment, up to a total purchase price of $5,000. Team members will be required to sign a promissory note and the loan will be repaid through payroll deductions over a one-year period, beginning immediately after the purchase.
